LEARN THE ROSARY
HOW TO SAY THE ROSARY
i.e.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Then
you meditate for a while, reflect on the Christ, picture the image of the
Blessed Virgin Mary, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
Raise
a Hymn (Either from the bible or from the Catholic Hymn book or any Hymn which
you know. Or rather, learn this;
OH! Maria come down x
2
I will never forget you,
Don’t forget me mama
I will never reject you,
Don’t reject me mama
OH! Maria come down. (Repeat as you so wish)
Then you say;
Come down oh Holy Spirit and fill the face of the
earth.
R. And the kindly in them, the fire of
the Lord.
Sent forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
R. And they shall renew the face of the
earth.
Then
you confess your sins to the Lord God Almighty.
Say
this:
ACT OF CONTRITION: Oh God because you are so
good I am very sorry that I have sinned against you but by the help of your
grace I will not sin again.
LET US PRAY: O God who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the
heart of the faithful, grant that through the same Spirit, we may be truly wise
and ever rejoice in this consolation, through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER: Our Father who art in
Heaven, hallow be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth, as
it is in heaven, give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from every evil, Amen.
I BELIVE IN GOD: I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and
earth, and in Jesus Christ his only son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy
Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake, He was crucified
under Pontius Pilate, He suffered dead and was buried, He descended into hell,
on the third day He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the
Father, He will come in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom
will have no end.
R. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the
communion of Saints the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and
life everlasting, Amen.
Then
you say your intention for saying the Rosary.
e.g.
Please my mother, help me through this Rosary to pray for me to my Master and
your son Jesus Christ , to help me gain admission; job; promotion; fruit of the
womb; breakthrough; protection; blessings; favours; graces and a helper from
him e.t.c.
Then
your repeat the Lord’s Prayer, holding the first large bead from the cross.
After
that, then you reciet;
Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with you.
Blessed are you amongst women
And blessed is the fruit of your womb “JESUS”
R. Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the how of our death, Amen.
YOU WILL RECIET
THE ABOVE THREE (3) TIMES while holding each of the three (3) beads preceding
the second large bead.
Then
you say:
Glory be to the father, and to the Son and to the
Holy Spirit.
R. As it was in the beginning, is now and
ever shall be world without end, Amen.
Oh our good Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from
the fires of Hell, lead us straight to heaven and deliver those, who are in the
most need of your mercy.
Jesus have mercy on us, Virgin Mary save us.
In
the Catholic Church, the mysteries are being divided into three categories:
1.
Joyful
mysteries
2.
Sorrowful
mysteries
3.
Glorious
mysteries
THE JOYFUL
MYSTERY IS DIVIDED INTO FIVE (5) SUB GROUPS
a.
The
First - The Annunciation
b.
The
Second - The
Visitation
c.
The
Third - The
birth of our Lord Jesus Christ
d.
The
Fourth - The
presentation of the child Jesus in the temple
e.
The
Fifth - The finding of the child Jesus in the temple.
THE SORROWFUL MYSTERY IS DIVIDED INTO
FIVE (5) SUB GROUPS
a.
The
First - The Agony in the garden
b.
The
Second - The
scourging at the pillar
c.
The
Third - The
crowning with thones
d.
The
Fourth - The
carrying of the cross
e.
The
Fifth - The crucifixion and death of our Lord Jesus.
THE GLORIOUS
MYSTERY IS DIVIDED INTO FIVE (5) GROUPS
a.
The
First - The resurrection
b.
The
Second - The
ascension
c.
The
Third - The
descend of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles
d.
The
Fourth - The
Coronation, Mary was crowned to be the queen of
heaven and ours
forever.
I
tell you, we only believe and follow learnt prayers, we only follow what
someone says, but I tell you, it is wrong.
The
Lord has given you freedom to speak and ask of him, anything that is righteous
and pleasing to him. He answers prayers without delays but in His own will for
your favour.
Speak
out!!! Tell your God what you want him to do for you. Look at the situation in
which you are currently and reflect it with the mysteries.
E.g.
1.
If you are suffering, relate it with the Sorrowful mystery
2.
If you are happy and thankful, relate it with the Joyful mystery
3.
If you are praying for your lost ones (those dead), relate it with the Glorious
Mystery.
Cry
out to the Lord and He will refuse you not, since He didn’t refused His mother;
Mary at the wedding feast in Cana. As you pray to Him, through the Holy Rosary,
His mother “Virgin Mary” will help in interceding and She is the mediatrix
between God and man, she will surely intercede on your behalf.
She
will certainly ask her son Jesus Christ to perform that same miracle which she
asked him to perform at the wedding feast at Cana. Surely I tell you, you will
certainly fill the impact of the Rosary in your life.
After
these prayers;
Then
you say our Lord’s Prayer holding the large bead before the biggest bead of the
Rosary.
Then
you continue by reciting the Hail Mary 10 times holding each of the small beads in one direction in a circular
path.
Immediately
after each tem (10) bead, you say ;
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and
to the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Oh our good Jesus
R. Forgive us our sins, save us from the
fires of Hell, lead us close to heaven especially those in most need of your
mercy.
Jesus have mercy on me, Virgin Mary save
us.
The
n you reflect on the mysteries of your problem to be solved.
When
you have gone round the Rosary, then you hold the largest of all beads and say
the following prayers;
HAIL HOLY QUEEN:
PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL:
LITANY OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY;
NIGHT PRAYER:
PRAYER TO OUR GUARDIAN ANGEL:
Then
you sing a hymn to the Lord. After singing you can now end your prayer with the
sign of the cross.
Saying:
IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON
AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AMEN.

The Rosary is more than just repeating the words of Gabriel ("Hail Full of Grace, the Lord is with Thee") and Elizabeth ("Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus") from scripture. It is also about meditating on the 20 "mysteries". Mysteries? What are these mysteries? They are broken down into four sets of mysteries, all taken from the bible:
1. The Annunciation of the Birth of Jesus to MaryThe Luminous Mysteries are as follows:
2. The Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth
3. The Birth of Jesus
4. The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple
5. The Finding of Jesus in the Temple
1. The Baptism of JesusThe Sorrowful Mysteries are as follows:
2. The Wedding Feast at Cana
3. The Proclamation of the Kingdom
4. The Transfiguration of Jesus
5. The Institution of the Eucharist
1. The Agony of Jesus in the Garden of GesthemaneThe Glorious Mysteries are as follows:
2. The Scourging of Jesus at the Pillar
3. The Crowning of Thorns
4. The Carrying of the Cross
5. The Crucifixion of Jesus
1. The Resurrection of Jesus
2. The Ascension of Jesus into Heaven
3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost
4. The Assumption of Mary
5. The Coronation of Mary
While the first 18
mysteries can be directly taken from the Bible, the last 2 mysteries,
the Assumption of Mary and the Coronation of Mary, can be deduced from
scripture. Taking a close look at Revelation Chapter 12, scripture
talks about a woman, not a disembodied spirit, in heaven with a crown
on her head. Paul says that a crown AWAITS us all in heaven (2 Timothy
4:8), so this woman already has hers. Since this woman is the woman who
gave birth to the Savior, the woman has to be Mary.
And Psalm 45:6ff clearly talks about the coronation of the Queen:
Your divine throne endures for ever and ever. Your royal scepter is a scepter of equity; you love righteousness and hate wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows; your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad; daughters of kings are among your ladies of honor; at your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir. Hear, O daughter, consider, and incline your ear; forget your people and your father's house; and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him; the people of Tyre will sue your favor with gifts, the richest of the people with all kinds of wealth. The princess is decked in her chamber with gold-woven robes; in many-colored robes she is led to the king, with her virgin companions, her escort, in her train. With joy and gladness they are led along as they enter the palace of the king. Instead of your fathers shall be your sons; you will make them princes in all the earth. I will cause your name to be celebrated in all generations; therefore the peoples will praise you for ever and ever.(**NOTE - This last verse from Psalm 45 is a clear reference to Luke 1:48 concerning the Blessed Virgin Mary: for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed!)
The Bible says in James 5:20 that " whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins." So by praying the rosary for sinners, we not only save them, but ourselves as well.
To multiply the blessings of the rosary, it is very beneficial to join the Rosary Confraternity. By joining, you get the blessings from all of the rosaries said by all of the members, rather than just yours.
